In Memory of...

To the artists we've loved and lost, to the legends we admired and to those that continue to inspire us.

Lynne Cantrill and The Mermites

To our legendary friend and fellow Mermite, singer, songwriter, guitarist, the one and only, Lynnie Cantrill. Her beautiful music and Dragonfly Arts and Crafts were the inspiration for The Dragonfly Stage, where hundreds of artists played and sang, in her honour. She is the inspiration behind Past Life Promotions and will continue to be the light that shines for us on our journey to create and bring our community together.

Heather Abriel (Suite Strings)

Mother, sister, daughter, artist. Heather was a singer, harpist, percussionist, painter, performer, crafter and weaver. Her angelic, loving nature brought warmth and comfort to those who knew her and her positive energy and zest for life inspired everyone around her. Heather had a passion for poetry and literature, history, philosophy and folk music. She had a wonderful sense of humour and cared for her family so deeply. She lives on in our hearts forever.

David Abriel (Midlife Crisis)

The man who was bigger than life itself. The giant, the doctor, the painter, the potter, the actor, the botanist. He loved nature walks and camping trips, bushcraft and canoeing, folk music and bluegrass. He played every instrument under the sun. Fiddle, mandolin, banjo, guitar, saxophone, piano, tin whistle, accordion, bagpipes... and more... he worked tirelessly and played with equal vigour. Loved and admired in his community by so many, he clearly walked the fine line between madness and genius, like so many of the best artists do. As a palliative care physician, he campaigned, passionately, for 'dying with dignity'. This helps shape the PLP values, encouraging us all to celebrate life, through art, through music, through our connection to each other and to the earth. We remember what's important and why.
